how much does a share cost?

Our CSA costs $800 for the 2017 season, which runs from mid-June to early November, subject to Mother Nature. Shares are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

 

When and where do I pick up my share?

Pickup is out of the Barn at Saltbox Farm on Wednesdays from 12-6pm and Saturdays from 8am-12noon. Members will bring their reusable bag, provided as part of their membership, to fill with the produce and herbs that are available that week. As a bonus, members will also have the option to head up to the fields and pick some of their own vegetables at our designated U-Pick section. We will provide members with a farm map and a tour during our orientation prior to the start of the harvest season. The map will include information such as where to park and hours to come to the farm. In addition, when available, our own flowers, eggs, honey and lamb cuts will be in the barn for purchase during distribution. 

 

Can I split a share with a friend or another family? How does that work?

Absolutely! All you need to do is sign up for a full share. If you would like to add multiple email addresses to our list for all CSA communication, please just email us at info@saltboxfarmconcord.com with any additional email addresses. As for splitting the share (whether you trade off picking up every other week, or split the weekly harvest in half), we will leave the coordination up to you.

 

Will my share be held over the next day if I cannot make my day's pickup?

We understand that emergencies occur. However, we hope that since we are offering 2 days each week for pickup, that our members will be able to come to one of those days each week. In the event that you cannot make your pick-up, please email us as soon as possible.

 

What if I'm going on vacation. Can I have a friend pick up my share?

If you will be out of town, we encourage you to send a friend or neighbor to pick up your share in your place. You do not need to let us know if someone else will be picking up. Please just let us know if you cannot pick up for a particular week. Please just make sure whomever you send has complete instructions on how distribution works as outlined in your handbook and for them to introduce themselves to the staff member onsite who will assist them in checking off your name and fill their bags.
